| Mars and Venus with Dr. John Gray |
 |
Kala speaks with John Gray about his newest book, Why Mars and Venus Collide. The enduring message from John Gray is that men and women are indeed from different planets. This truth has not changed since the publication of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus. In fact, the differences between the sexes have become more evident in today's hectic, fast-paced world. Except now, the monster known as stress has become a main ingredient in our lives and it has successfully invaded our relationships. Once upon a time, there was a lifestyle where men went to work and women stayed home. In today's society, you're more likely to find the power couple. They both go to work (for longer than just 9 to 5) and they are overworked, underpaid, and overstressed. They both struggle to excel in the same status-hungry society and hectic, competitive, career-oriented environment. Couples come home to each other -- and instead of being comforted by each other, a new set of problems begin. And most of these challenges can be chalked up to one main ingredient: stress. |
 |
More About Dr. John Gray:
John Gray is the author of 15 best-selling books, including Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, the number one best-selling relationship book of the last decade. In the past ten years, over 30 million Mars and Venus books have been sold in over 40 languages throughout the world.
An expert in the field of communication, John Gray's focus is to help men and women understand, respect and appreciate their differences in both personal and professional relationships. In his many books, CDs, DVDs, tapes, workshops and seminars, he provides practical tools and insights to effectively manage stress and improve relationships at all stages and ages by creating the brain chemistry of health, happiness and lasting romance.
Dr. John Gray has appeared on Oprah, The Today Show, CBS Morning Show, Good Morning America, The View, Politically Incorrect, Larry King, and others. He has been profiled in Newsweek, Time, Forbes, USA Today, TV Guide, and People , among others.
John Gray, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of communication and relationships, is the author of fifteen books, was a certified marriage and family therapist for over 15 years, and has been conducting personal-growth seminars for over thirty years. John Gray lives with his wife and three children in Northern California. More info at: http://www.marsvenus.com |

| Aloha Life with Alika |
 |
From the beautiful energy of Hawaii, Kala speaks with Alika about Aloha Life. Aloha translates from Hawaiian into English into many, many things -- all of them good. Anyone who has visited the islands of Hawai'i knows that the moment you arrive, the Spirt of Aloha fills your soul. To live an Aloha Life is to use the power of Aloha to elevate, empower, and ennoble yourself in your life and the lives of those around you. According to Alika, "To live an Aloha Life was a method that was TRUTH for my ancestors and was integral to their daily lives. This way of life has been passed down through the generations. When I was younger, I was on a path of a destruction -- lashing out at a world that I had perceived as being against me. My tutu (grandmother) began instructing me on how to live an Aloha Life and more importantly, how to use the key to prosperity, peace and harmony that is Aloha for the betterment of the lives of others." Enjoy this interview with Kala as she speaks about one her favorite places on Earth, Hawaii as she shares the beautiful Aloha spirit with Alika! |
 |
More About Alika:
Alika was born Alika Medeiros in Honolulu on the island of Oahu. The child of a Portuguese father and a native Hawai'ian mother, his father abandoned his family when he was a child and he was raised with the influence of his mother and his mother's family. When he was younger, Alika acted out and got into all the sorts of trouble a young man can. His actions were spurred by a resentment toward his father and all of the other hardships he had faced as a youngster. While a teen, Alika was in a horrible surfing accident that shattered his ankle and left him unable to walk. Faced with the prospect of never being able to walk again, he fell into a deep depression. His grandmother began practicing the ancient Hawai'ian Lomi (massage) on him while explaining to him the wonders of Huna, a traditional Hawai'ian spirituality. Within months, Alika had completely healed. It was during one of these sessions with his grandmother that Alika fell into a trance-like state and experienced a moment of total clarity. He knew at this moment that by creating what he calls an "Aloha Life" he could help others to release the "Kahuna" within. What began as a young man's idealism to change the world has turned into Alika's lifetime crusade. Through his "Aloha Life" workshops, healing touch seminars and his own Kilo Lani yoga techniques, he has helped people worldwide to transform the quality of their lives and the lives of those around them.

| Wake Up Now: A Journey Through the Stages of Spiritual Awakening with Stephan Bodian |
 |
With the growing popularity of satsang in the West, more and more people are waking up to the radiant emptiness of their essential spiritual nature. But few realize that awakening is often just the beginning of a prolonged and challenging journey of spiritual unfolding that may be fraught with pitfalls as well as promise. Kala speaks with Stephan Bodian, spiritual teacher and author of the new book, Wake Up Now: A Guide to the Journey of Spiritual Awakening. Stephan invites you to glimpse your true nature directly, right now, without arduous practice. His work leads you through the stages that generally follow: the “wake” of awakening, when the mind tends to obscure or co-opt your realization; the embodiment process, in which you learn to actualize your awakening in every area and dimension of your life; and the ongoing challenge of freeing the dark or frozen places in the psyche that awakening by itself may not reach. |
 |
More About Stephan Bodian:
Stephan has practiced and taught nondual approaches to truth for more than 35 years. After a series of deepening realizations, he received Dharma transmission (authorization to teach) from his Zen teacher, Adyashanti. His life is now devoted to igniting and fostering the flame of truth in others through his counseling, mentoring, teaching, and writing. In addition to regular satsangs and intensives, Stephan offers silent retreats and an eight-month School for Awakening that begins again in June 2008. A licensed psychotherapist as well as a spiritual teacher, he has evolved a vibrant, intimate approach to counseling and mentoring that blends psychological insight and spiritual realization. His new book, Wake Up Now: A Guide to the Journey of Spiritual Awakening, was published this year by McGraw-Hill.
Stephan began practicing Zen in 1970 after studying Asian language and culture at Columbia and Stanford. Ordained a Zen priest in 1974, he trained with several Zen masters, including Shunryu Suzuki Roshi (author of Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind) and Taizan Maezumi Roshi, and directed the training program at the Zen Center of Los Angeles. He also practiced Dzogchen-Mahamudra with several Tibetan teachers and spent 10 years studying Advaita Vedanta with Jean Klein. Stephan is the former editor-in-chief of the magazine Yoga Journal and a contributing editor of Tricycle: The Buddhist Review, and he has written extensively on spiritual themes. Unlock Your Perfect Personal Style by Putnam Berkeley, made it to #2 on Amazon.com for its intuitive take on the meaning behind the color one wears and six style types to which, according to Hartman, we are each innately cast. Think of it as the zodiac of fashion. “I don’t believe that any woman evolves into her style. I firmly believe that each of us is born into one,” Hartman says. Fabluous You! quickly established Hartman as a style guru and color expert. Choose from candles that summon Divine Love and Business Blessing to Financial Prosperity, Miracle and more. |

| Soul Intuitive Eddie Conner |
 |
How would it be to know, without a doubt, that you could create any environment you want for yourself, just by working with the God-force of the Universe? Wouldn't it be exciting if you knew there were spirit guides that are available, anytime at all, to you alone? Would it change the way you think about things to know that there are angels dedicated to nothing more than helping you learn the life lessons you came to Earth to learn? It certainly changed Eddie Conner's life when he was shown all these things, and more! Like many people, Eddie had a rocky start in this world. He couldn't change his environment, as a child, so he decided to change the way it affected him. His willingness to seek meaning in the adversity resulted in his being shown the Light of spiritual guidance. Through trial and error, Eddie learned to stand in that light, and to believe what it showed him. And it is this that he shares with everyone that comes to a workshop, a class or a private reading. Eddie's ability to hear and see his spirit guides and angels enables him to tap into the "Higher Energies" of the Universe. Even better, he reminds us that this gift is available to us all. Kala speaks with Eddie on the techniques he uses to help others find ways to disperse the clouds of confusion that swirl between us and our Truths. |
 |

| Folkloric Arts with Patricia Banker |
 |
Art from - and for - the Heart, Spirit, Mind, Body, and Soul. FolkloricArts(TM) is the offspring of PatriArts(TM) and Saints Preserved(TM).
Over the past decade, in doing research for the Saints series, Patricia Banker came to realize how many of them are related to classic folklore - Jungian Archetypes. Quite honestly, she hadn't given much thought to Carl Jung's theories since Psych 101 in college. Now she has come to appreciate his theory of synchronicity as she made connections with her "patrons," her work, and her personal life. Through experiences, she's become less skeptical and more spiritual. A century ago, Jung maintained that "modern" humans rely too heavily on science and logic. He felt we needed to integrate spirituality and appreciation of the unconscious realm, and emphasized the importance of seeking balance and harmony. Jung came of age during the Arts & Crafts movement. The more Patricia delved into it, the more she realized that she had a special affinity for Celtic folklore, which coincides with her long held love of the Pre-Raphaelites (they "rediscovered" the Celts) and the Arts & Crafts movement. Patricia works within the same spirit, using methods, media, and materials beyond Morris' and Mackintosh's wildest fantasies... |
 |
More About Patricia Banker:
First, let me clarify: I am no saint. I make them...from clay, glass, metal, paint...and other media...using historical references.
and I probably make them in another sense as well... Expeditus was not the first saint I sculpted, but he's become my personal "patron." My tendency toward procrastination has at times been legendary. I'm afraid that I may well have nudged family and friends closer to sainthood (I'm sure they'll thank me someday!) as they patiently waited for me to get around to doing something I was supposed to do. Some long-suffering college roommates once even stayed up all night to help me finish a put-off art project that was due the next day. I have phone calls waiting to be returned; wedding gifts, thank-you notes and greeting cards waiting to be sent. Some of them have been waiting for years...I don't need to get into the psychological reasons here...I'll just refer you to this area of helpful links on Expeditus' page.
However, I do somehow seem to get a few things done...and the older I get the more I realize just how little time I've got left to do the rest! But just so I don't come across as a some sort of dallying dilettante, I'll list some things I have managed to accomplish:
I did obtain degrees in Art and English (with the help of those roommates!) from a fairly prestigious (at least according to their promotional literature) university. I found - and have stayed married to - a great guy for 26 years. I've raised (with a tremendous amount of help from their dad) 3 boys to the ages of 24, 23, & 21 who (so far) have brought us much more joy than pain. I've edited and published 4 books, one of which still generates enough income to enable me to occasionally buy someone else's book. I have been the editor of 3 magazines (spanning 8 years), somehow making sure most deadlines got met. I wrote a nationally syndicated newspaper column for 5 years (okay, I probably did miss a few deadlines). I owned a full-services design studio that generated enough income to pay my bills until, in a state of postpartum psychosis, I started my own magazine. I taught art in both public and parochial schools.
In fact, my whole life I've felt slightly out of sync...doing something just because it felt like the right thing, even though others saw it as weird or peculiar. I've learned to accept it as a compliment when the very people who smirked at something I was doing, turn around and do the same thing 5 years later because now it has become cool or trendy. And I continue to have a lot of expensive "learning experiences." I think that's why these saints appeal to me so much. They did what they were inspired to do, despite public opinion and "common" wisdom. The similarity stops there, however: The most painful torture I've yet to endure at the hands of adversaries is boredom; I'm still trying to figure out my own "spirituality;" and no saint would ever write this much about herself! Vanda was voted the "Funniest person in Washington" in Showtime’s "Funniest Person in America" contest in 1987.
As a yoga and meditation teacher, she toured with award-winning country/pop artists, The Dixie Chicks on their 2000 "Fly" tour for 6 1/2 months, as well as rock sensation Patty Griffin. She makes her home now in Venice, CA., nurturing her third career as a "Spiritual Quantum Comic" using all of the knowledge, wisdom and nonsense she’s acquired from influences such as the movies, What The Bleep Do We Know and The Secret, Ramana Maharshi, Eckhart Tolle, David Deida, Landmark Education, 12-step work, A Course in Miracles, Byron Katie, Ram Das and various channeled entities to inspire people through laughter. Vanda says "Standing on those shoulders, I intend to expand consciousness by stirring up and promoting ‘irreverent reverence,’ and to uplift, heal and connect people through laughter… I would like to help people grow limbs back and such." "The most amazing Masters I have ever met are amazing because of how accessible they are as human beings, because of how they listen to others … and how responsible they are in regards to generating their realities and how insignificant they are about their inherent value. They know that they are The Great Nothing/Everything. And that’s something."
Her work is a delightful, irreverent romp down her twisted spiritual path. Vanda's comedy deals with the human predicament, the trap of the egoic mind and the absurdity of it all. Vanda’s passion is personal growth and development. She offers powerful spiritual distinctions in a ridiculously funny way that leaves the audience inspired. She begins by questioning our point of view about our point of view and then challenges many of our spiritual beliefs and beliefs about reality, riffingpassionately about enlightenment, quantum physics, the nature of and pitfalls of being a human being, personal growth, spirituality, metaphysics, yoga, meditation, peace and love. |

|
Celebrating a Love of Art and Music! Roy and Nancy have been married for 30 years, marrying at age 19
and 18. They are incredibly devoted to each other. “I write all my love songs for Nancy.” Roy says.
They have been on a spiritual journey for the past 10 years moving out of a very structured religious
environment into a broader spiritual realm. Nancy says, “We basically just stepped out of the box!”
They are a tight knit family and have four grown children all who are incredibly gifted and have been
on the journey with them. They have several projects they are currently working on together aside from
Roy’s music and Nancy’s business. “Our goal is to make a difference in people’s lives, giving love,
hope and light.” They are into simple and natural living and live in beautiful Hot Springs Arkansas. |

 |
More About Nancy Rector and Roy Rivers:
Nancy is owner of Cyclops Studios, a web site and graphics design business known for their incredibly
creative and unique designs and low prices. Nancy’s goal with her company, along with a “no money down”
policy, is to provide unique, top quality work at a fraction of the cost so that even those on a budget
can afford it. Due to the nature of her work, a large portion of her clients are in the metaphysical
realm.
“We are a family business and I believe I have such a large number of metaphysical clients not only
because our work lends itself well to that genre, but also because we hold many of the same belief and
feelings as our clients. This allows us to intuitively create designs that fit the energy of each
person.”
Visit www.cyclopsstudios.com and look through our extensive and beautiful portfolio of not only live
web sites, but business cards, logos, brochures and many other items. You’ll be amazed!
Roy Rivers is both an entertainer and a singer/songwriter whose songs and live concert events reflect
the continuing spiritual journey of his life. As of this date, he has written over 140 songs. Roy’s
voice has always been compared to that of John Denver, one of his musical heroes.
He signed with AGR/Universal in Germany in 2004, and then released a John Denver tribute record in 2005
(“Thank God I’m A Country Boy”) which included 6 John’s songs and 6 of his own. The title cut, a duet
with Dolly Parton, went straight to #1 on the country music charts in Europe. Two other self-penned
songs, “What Our Love Is Not About”, and “Oh Railroad”, went to #2 and #4. Roy also had the honor of
receiving the German/American Country Music Hall of Fame award on behalf of John Denver in 2005. In
2006 Roy and Dolly won the European Country Music Association award’s Vocal Duet of the Year.

“My songs speak to the feelings and emotions I experience in life. Almost all of my songs have a story
behind them. Through my music I hope to instill a little more hope, a little more understanding and
tolerance, and a little more love for one another.”
He is currently writing for his next record of all original music to be released early in 2008.

| Rebellious Dreamer and Angels Are Everywhere with Singer/Songwriter Joy Adler |
 |
Rare, Stunning, transcending; Joy Adler is an extraordinary vocalist who sings from the depths of her
being and risks revealing it to the world!
Although self taught, Joy knew how to master the art of singing by studying and reproducing sounds she
heard from her greatest teachers, Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin. She spent hours attempting to
replicate their vocal gymnastics and transform them into a sound of her own. Although her voice has
been compared to Sarah McLachlan and Jewel, she has an astonishing ability to sing almost any musical
genre. Joy says, “The strength of all the great artists is that they would allow the world to see their
unique essence, by baring their souls onstage. This is what I seek to do.”
But singing is not Joy’s only forte. She is a songwriter who can write with honesty and frankness and
combines her talents with expressive openness to provide the listener with something of an
extraordinary experience. Her abilities can transport you to the heights of the angels or to the depths
of despair, with a rich tonal quality and expansive range. |
 |
More About Joy Adler:
In 1999, Joy was presented with an award from “The Rebellious Dreamer Foundation”. This grant is given
to women of exceptional talent and provides them with mentoring and financial support. She used this
award to produce her CD of critically acclaimed original material, aptly named; Rebellious Dreamer.
While it is not often in the music industry, that someone comes along to challenge and raise the level
of performance and songwriting in subtle yet profound ways, Joy seems to be doing just that.
Joy has performed on stages all over the world. In January, 2003, Joy was crowned The Royal Caribbean’s
Idol Search Champion Female Vocalist. In addition to still occasionally performing with other artists,
Joy was joined creatively by the multi-talented Eileen O'Brien from New Hampshire who played both piano
and the haunting harmonica that you hear on the CD, as well angel-voiced Mary Page from Vermont on
vocal harmonies. Eileen also co-wrote "Rebellious Dreamer" and "Coming Home. Joy also records for many
different artists and her goal is to score music for film and television.
“Joy Adler, vocalist extraordinaire, is bound to become a household name. Her soulful style has a power
and a presence that stirs the sleepy spirit,” says Brenda Stinson, Author of “The Journey is Where the
Jewels Lie”. - Joy Adler is just that…a rare jewel.

| Refresh, Rejuvenate and Renew at the Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa |

Built from granite boulders hewn from Sunset Mountain, The Grove Park Inn opened in 1913. At its opening dinner, William Jennings Bryan declared that it had been “built for the ages.” In the decades since it has become one of the South’s most famous and venerable resorts. It’s famous for the elevators cleverly hidden in the chimneys of the stone fireplaces (put there to conceal the noise of the machinery), which continue to transport guests to their rooms today.During the summers of 1935 and ’36, author F. Scott Fitzgerald resided in our Room 441. He’s just one of the American luminaries to have stayed here, a list that includes Harry Houdini, Will Rogers, George Gershwin, Thomas Edison, Eleanor Roosevelt and Henry Ford. Not to mention eight presidents — from Woodrow Wilson to George Bush. From yesterday to today, The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa has remained a place dedicated to providing its guests with comfort — and genuine delight.

| Journey into the world of music, spirit and meditation with SOULPATH |
 |
Let us take you on a journey. A journey into the world of music, spirit and meditation. Turn off the light and make yourself comfortable. Place your feet securely on the floor and relax your hands safely in your lap. Are you ready? Then we shall begin ... Enter the world of Soulpath, a UK band with music to charm the world, relax the body and soothe the spirit and mind. Described as a fusion of Enya, Clannad and Dido their music is something else with its own unique style and sound with talents of Julie Roberts, Steve Mitchell and Mike Stone. |
 |
More About SOULPATH:
It comes from the heart and soul and most importantly from the universe itself. It was early 1980's and Mike Stone and Steve Mitchell had met at Keele University. As well as enjoying the mystical realms of elves and dryads, beer and parties, laced with a smattering of study, they soon discovered a mutual interest in music making and writing with local bands. Steve and Mike already had graded examinations under their belts in their respective instruments so with a degree in music they started to attract attention further afield with Mike's flowing lyrics augmenting Steve's very individual music. Steve's musical direction of the European premier of Annie Warbucks led him into contact with Warner Chappels and in 1997 Steve and Mike formed Buzz'n'Bee Music to promote their composition. Writing in styles as diverse as folk, reggae, blues and traditional jazz they have been commissioned to compose for everything from Australian children's TV to a title track for a Warner Brothers film. More recently they were asked to write music to underscore a Granada TV series in the style of Clannad. It was at this time that the unexplored talent and magical vocals of Julie Roberts were discovered. Steve and Mike had already been prompted to compile a C.D. of their music and were working on a second one for empowerment and meditation when Julie arrived on the scene to record the vocal tracks. There was an instant spark between everyone and something magical was happening. They found a common interest in yoga, magic, alternative therapy and the esoteric which instantly transformed the music they were writing.

Cari’s music inspires us to live the vision of a new dream; the dream of heaven on Earth. Inspired by author Don Miguel Ruiz's book,The Four Agreements, The Circle of Fire CD is rich in instrumental texture but beautifully spacious, honoring the integrity of its songwriting, which suggests a timelessness such as Carole King’s “Tapestry” or Joni Mitchell’s “Blue”. Producer Paul St. James has created a definitive soundscape for a music that transcends trend and a record that is highly accessible while remaining true to its authenticity and intent. Rooted by Cari’s exquisite piano, acoustic guitar and sonically pure vocals, the CD hosts a spectrum of fretless bass, ambient guitars, gypsy violin, native American flute, and melodic drums and percussion that flow throughout. |

| Eco Spiritual Adventures with Tobias Lars |

Kala speaks with Tobias Lars and his Eco Spiritual Adventures to Wolf Adventures, a Manatee Swim, a Hot Springs Healing Retreat, A Wild Horse Adventure & soon upcoming Ayahuasca Amazonian Shaman Adventures & a UFO Encounter Adventure. |
 |
More About Tobias Lars:
While attending undergraduate school Tobias Lars had an awakening experience where the energy centers of the body opened up and spontaneously reactivated ancient yogic energy practices. This happened without any work. The Yogic 'Asanas' - the postures came back to the conscious awareness and he felt other lifetimes of practicing yoga. As he did each posture they felt like a key unlocking energy grids in the body that had been previously locked and these energies were then released and flooded through the body. These powerful effects were undeniable to his young western scientific mind. That Started a 25 year journey of spiritual study. Tobias spent time in India with a master teacher, studied shamanic practices with Native American free beings, heart centered Tantra, ego confrontation, the path of divine romantic love and with the help of a mentor opened back up to the energies of the nature kingdom of Pan and the Devic Kingdom.
During this time Tobias Lars also received a Masters Degree in International Business and founded ventures in international business. A few years later another series of 'wake up calls' came through business 'failure', divorce and bankruptcy. He next spent a period of 5 years away from the day to day world going through another level of awakening of the soul. Much of what he believed and thought he 'knew' - especially ideas of what spirituality really was - and what was previously held as reality, was transformed-exploded-shifted. | Wondorous Journey - Traveling the World by Following Your Heart with Dean Jacobs |
 |
After thirteen years of success in the business world, Dean Jacobs asked himself a couple of questions: How much does one need to be happy? What is my dream? The answer to the latter was easy: to take a journey around the world! For nearly two years Dean Jacobs traversed the globe on a low budget adventure to better understand and know the world we all share. This journey is now captured in his book: Wondrous Journey- The World is Waiting for You. Living on 10-15 dollars a day, Dean wandered from Australia and Southeast Asia to the Middle East and Africa as he explored 28 countries. He crossed the equator 4 times, ate exotic foods and encountered fascinating animals. But more importantly in a world that we are told to be afraid of, Dean found something different. The kindness of the ordinary people in the world was the rule, not the exception. Near the beginning of his trip 9-11 occurred. Instead of stopping, he continued out of a realization that more then ever he needed to learn about the world. This is a story of a man who would stop at nothing to follow his dream and the magic that happens when one follows their heart. His book captures the heart of the journey with his stories and wonderful color photos. |
 |
More About Dean Jacobs:
For nearly two years Dean Jacobs traversed across the globe on a low budget adventure to better understand the world we all share. Dean Jacobs was
born in Wahoo Nebraska. After living on a farm, his family moved to Fremont Nebraska when he was five. Growing up in the Midwest gave him an appreciation for the simple things in life. He graduated from Wayne State College earning a degree in Biology, with minors in Earth Science and Art.
After graduating he worked in the administration of Wayne State College as the Assistant to the President, before moving on to Purina Mills.
Eventually this path led him to Pfizer Pharmaceuticals where he was employed in sales/marketing for 10 years. After a great deal of soul searching
Dean left the security of corporate America, and decided to pursue other dreams. This was the beginning of a process that would lead to a traveling
adventure that would span twenty-two and half months and cover twenty-eight countries. Taking photos became a natural expression of the journey for
Dean as he documented and verified the common ground of our humanity. To Dean, photography is a discovery process where something extraordinary can
be found within the confines of ordinary life. "I am far more interested in real things, real experiences and real people then sitting at home watching fantasies on a television screen. I take
photos of what I am drawn to: it may be a small child, a landscape or some world treasure that has been photographed millions of times. Initially, I
take the photograph first for myself, with the larger intention of capturing a moment in life, a moment that has touched me in some profound way.
However, it is my hope that others will also be touched as well in some small way when viewing my photography. It brings me great pleasure to share
what I see. A moment is gone forever except for that crazy attempt to capture it on a negative and keep it preserved like a genie in a bottle for
all time. But as insane as it is, I love doing it, over and over. I look at my photos and instantly I am taken to that place, the smell of the air,
the feel of the hard ground, the taste of strange foods, the smile of a friendly face. With all of our amazing cultures in life, I have concluded we
are far more alike then different. The intention of my photos is to focus on what is similar between you and me, and honoring the differences
through acceptance. Then our world expands, creating more possibilities and more love. I offer my photos and my story as a gift, to move life forward in a simple and pure way." More about Dean Jacobs at: www.travel4life.org |

| Wildlife vs Politics in Alaska |
 |
The remote, northeastern corner of Alaska is home to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which politicians call ANWR, a nineteen-million-acre
wilderness that may contain as much as 16 billion barrels of crude oil. Conservationists and developers have fought bitterly over the land for the
last half-century, an era in which petroleum has virtually come to define Alaska. Struggling to combat the big-money politics that threaten the
region, the conservation efforts of one couple, Olaus and Mardy Murie, made them legendary.
Jonathan Waterman's latest book, Where Mountains Are Nameless - Passion and Politics in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, blends historical
narrative with vivid tales of his journeys into the Arctic Refuge wilderness, creating a tension between past and present, science and politics,
reflection and investigation. Since 1983, he has taken eighteen trips into the far North, and spent over two hundred days in and around the
embattled Arctic Refuge. While paddling or trekking cross-country, Waterman encounters howling wolves, British Petroleum workers, Inupiat hunters,
and the oil-ravaged Prince William Sound. |
 |
More About Jon Waterman:
Jonathan Waterman started shooting photographs on his expeditions three decades ago, but also found his calling as a writer and author. He has
starred in and written films for television, including “The Logan Challenge” (PBS, 1991), “Surviving Denali” (ESPN, 1994), and “Odyssey Among the
Inuit” (OLN, 2000).
He's mostly known for his time exploring the North, detailed in six of his nine books and in journals such as the Washington Post, Adventure,
Hooked On the Outdoors, Outside, Backpacker, Climbing, and Rock and Ice. In June 2005, W.W. Norton released his Where Mountains Are Nameless;

| What People Want - Building Relationships with Terry Bacon |
 |
The book is: What People Want: A Manager's Guide to Building Relationships That Work. A recent survey of 500 employees reveals significant differences between those who identify themselves as "religious or spiritual" and their nonreligious peers. Terry Bacon, a workplace expert whose company conducted the national survey, says the disparity between religious and nonreligious employees may provide insights into how managers can create more positive and productive work teams.
Bacon draws from his original research to analyze several key differences. Among them: Spiritual workers have higher needs for forgiveness and emotional support, Spiritual workers have higher needs to be valued and acknowledged, Spiritual workers have higher needs to trust their boss and coworkers, Nonspiritual workers have a higher tolerance for diverse value systems, Nonspiritual workers are less concerned if their managers are not personable, and Nonspiritual workers don't look for unconditional support from peers. |

| LightSpeak Transformational Arts with artist Leiah Bowden |
 |
An Explore Your Spirit with Kala Original! Listen along as visionary artist Leiah Bowden creates a Spiritual Energy Portrait of Kala while she interviews her on her work. The graphic you see here is the finished product that Leiah created of Kala. In this interview, Leiah describes what she sees in Kala's energy fields and chakras.
Lifelong meditator, intuitive artist and visionary, Leiah accesses a realm where our souls are unveiled and, from within a light trance state, creates these spiritual Energy Portraits in pastels as commissioned works of art and healing tools. Each Energy Portrait comes with guidance from the subject's and/or Leiah's higher self or angelic being. In addition to serving as individual tools for healing and personal growth, these remarkable images illustrate the shamanic origin of the crowns, helmets, headresses, and other ritual and costume elements that have come down to us from ancient civilizations. |
 |
More About Leiah Bowden:
My best work - whether it's creating paintings, essays or meals - is intuitive. I approach a piece knowing that it already exists somewhere, and
what I need to do is to allow it to appear. Something flows through me and out my fingers for which I take only the credit for getting out of the
way and knowing how to manage the media. In these moments, I am aware that I am in the altered state of consciousness I call Heaven. I hear - and
sometimes sing - beautiful melodies; my left hand (I am right-handed) sometimes flutters or waves with the energy of Faery. Sometimes I am aware
of unseen observers and guides. Sometimes I recieve direct, clear, verbal suggestions to use specific colors, to extend a line here or curve a
line there.
The signature I use on my paintings came to me one winter night after artist friends chided me for not signing my name to my artwork. "You need to
sign your work!" they chorused. I felt that my name interfered with the energy flow the painting expressed. Later that night, as I stood ouside on
the porch waiting for my dog to return from his errand, I asked All That Is to send me a signature. Immediately I felt and obeyed an urge to lean
forward and trace something with my finger in the snow. It was a symbol that felt powerful, grounded, soaring, and mine. And rather than
interfering with my work, I feel it seals it the way "Amen" seals a prayer. More at www.energyportraits.com |

| Medical Missions of Mercy in Haiti with Dr. Steven Landau |
 |
On January 5, a team of 10 AMURT volunteers arrived in Haiti amidst rumors of kidnappings, murders and other violence. The mission was to support the wonderful work already done by two yogic renunciates working with Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team. The specific task was to provide medical relief and eye care to those Haitians who had almost no such care available to them, both in Port au Prince and in the northern province of Anse Rouge, which had been hit hard by recent hurricanes.
At an organizational meeting on arrival, they decided to split up in two groups - one to serve the city folk and the other to head for the provinces. The medicines were split in two, with each group carrying over 4 trunks full of supplies, pharmaceuticals and vitamins.
The city group efforts were concentrated at Didi's school at Bourdon, which serves over 300 children, and Dada's school in Delmas, which serves over 450 children and houses adult literacy and computer classses as well. They were guarded by Frankie, a Haitian Karate instructor wearing khakies and drab and sunglasses and slouch hat. This group saw and treated over 100 people a day for a total of about 500 patients diagnosed and provided with medication. Clinics were free. In addition, 300 pairs of reading glasses were fitted and dispensed free.
More About Dr. Steven Landau:
Dr. Steven Landau is Board Certified in family practice as well as holistic medicine. He began a serious practice of meditation and yoga in 1970 when he was initiated into Ananda Marga (AM). His motivation for teaching AM yoga is their motto: Self-realization and service to humanity. His belief in this philosophy has led him to teach in schools, jails, treatment centers for drug addition, and battered women's shelters. He has gone on medical missions with AMURT (AM Universal Relief Team) to Third World countries including Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, as well as hurricane/flood relief in Greenville, North Carolina. He has served on the North American AMURT Board for more than 10 years and now serves as its President. He also has been named the best AM Bhukti Pradhana (county governor) in North America. When asked why he joined the Yoga Alliance Board, he quoted his guru, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, who said, "When you want to learn the secrets of the magician, you must join the magician's party." Dr. Landau is married with three children, speaks 5 languages, and plays 10 musical instruments. |

| Living the Conscious Dream in Life and Business with John Troy |
 |
Kala speaks with John Troy about his journey into consciousness and connecting it all together to
live the dream in life and in business. John's friends call him The Wizard. He says he's just doing
what comes naturally. John Troy is a North Carolina native, born and raised in this gentle, southern
state. Summertime found him at a farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains where he began to learn all about
the world of natural foods, firsthand. Thirty years later, John met his second food guru, Jamesy, a
little man in the mountains of Jamaica with a heart as big as all outdoors. Jamesy became John's
spiritual Godfather. Jamesy's diet was totally natural, out of the wild and he taught John the
methods of preparing healthy food with what the good earth freely provided. Days were spent
gathering and preparing food from scratch from the wild harvest. Jamesy taught John the power of
food in healing the body.
When John returned from Jamaica, he opened a natural herb & spice store in
Chapel Hill, NC and his journey in the food business began. He went on to manage two emerging
natural foods stores before starting a foundation of the healing arts, The Lindenself Foundation.
There, John was busy feeding folks incredible meals at retreats and gatherings. As a support for the
foundation, he started an enterprise to make the world's first energy bar, The Wizard's Power Pac, a
delicious high-energy bar made with fruits, nuts, herbs, honey and ginseng. Inspired by the advent of
a first traditional soy facility in North Carolina, John concocted his first bottled sauce. The
Wizard's Hot Stuff. This miso based hot sauce is still popular today. This was the beginning of the
prolific storm of sauces, dressings and condiments that were to follow. He started American Natural
Foods and introduced natural sauces and condiments to the national natural food trade. |
 |
More About John Troy:
From his growing reputation, John received an invitation from the prime
minister of Grenada to consult on how to best utilize their small truck farms in reaching the
culinary markets of the world. The following year, the governor of Vermont asked John to consult
with the State of Vermont, helping small food artisans develop and re-formulate products and scale up
for entry into the natural foods industry. He worked with this coalition of Vermont food artisans
and, today, many of these companies that John coached are successful national gourmet and natural
food companies. John's consulting business also took him to Japan where he learned about the
wonderful world of Asian cuisine.
Leveraging the consulting fees that he had earned, John was able
to invest in and build a company with a bottling plant in Cedar Grove, NC. Thus The Wizard's
Cauldron, LTD was founded. He began to assemble a skilled and energetic team of people with shared
principles. The company began an enterprise in proprietary branding for folks who were looking for a
qualified team who understood the need for a natural and organic way of providing delicious food
products.
At the same time, John and his wife, Carol, began planning menus and cooking at their own
natural food cafe in Hillsborough, NC, The Regulator Cafe. The popular cafe had a local following
that allowed the pair to experiment with many innovative new American flavor profiles. John then
coached an artisan food company in the UK where they developed and formulated organic dressings for
Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsbury. He continues to work with many small food artisans, coaching them to
be organic and how to scale up for larger demand.
Today, John Troy is CEO and Coach at The Wizard's
Cauldron, where they continue to produce winning recipes. He refers to the company's marketing
strategy as "The Wizard of Oz" marketing strategy. The company currently supplies over a two hundred
different products for the organic food trade. Customers include Whole Foods Market, Wild Oats,
Central Market, Moosewood Restaurant, Premier Japan, Simply Delicious, Rainforest Organic,
OrganicVille, Redbone Alley, Albert's Organics and Atkins Nutritionals. The enterprise is still
doing what comes naturally, and organically, and helps it's customers to do the same. More info at: http://www.wizardscauldron.com/ |

| GodPillow - a wonderful gift for meditation and connection |
 |
According to Cindy Halley, a time of quietness and meditation enhances a better emotional, physical and spiritual life. Kneeling Enterprises aspires to encourage people of all faiths to put into practice the physical expression of the surrendered heart through Prayer and meditation,
therefore providing the opportunity to connect with a greater awareness of God through the Godpillow. Godpillows are described as personal prayer kneelers, designed as spiritual tools that serve to: inspire daily devotion, promote a discipline of surrendering, create experience in prayer and meditation, realign the physical with the spiritual, and provide time and stillness. |
 |
More About Cindy Haley and GodPillow...
Life has moved very quickly for Cindy -so quickly that she woke up one day and found herself isolated from family and LIFE (not to mention God). Life literally brought her to her knees, which she describes as her first "Spiritual Awakening". She states that every time she surrenders, a Spiritual Transformation happens. A door opens and she knows God is listening. Since developing a relationship with God, she says, LIFE IS FULLER! Life keeps on being busy... that doesn't stop. But now she takes time in the morning, gets on her knees, prays, and asks God to direct her during the day. And, everytime she asks, she finds that her day runs smoother. And, at the end of the day, she get on her knees and says "Thank you". That is the best part. She feels inspired, knowing that great things will happen and she also knows that when the not-so-good things happen, she is not alone. | Awaken Visions with Artist Daniel Holeman |
 |
Artistic talent combined with life-long exploration of consciousness and devotion to self-realization has given Daniel B. Holeman an ability to depict uplifting and profound sacred imagery. His inspirational paintings have a strong impact and an uncanny affect on people. Many are deeply touched emotionally – sometimes brought to tears - and describe his paintings as the most beautiful pictures they have ever seen.
Daniel feels it is not so much the beauty as the place it stirs in people that they are responding to. He invites the viewer to dive into a deeper dimension of consciousness while viewing his paintings. The imagery stirs forgotten awareness of a place felt to be HOME – a warm, familiar and heartfelt state of mind – a welcome contrast to the day-to-day world we live in. His work has been used on TV and videos, book and CD covers, magazines, prints, posters, cards and the internet. |
|
More about Daniel Holeman:
Born and raised in San Jose, Daniel currently resides in San Rafael, California and is working on a new series of inspiring abstract oil paintings.Self-taught techniques include oil on canvas with airbrush touchup. The mandala works are pen and ink on paper, and then colored on computer. Rather than appealing to select markets, such as "New Age" and "Spiritual", his work appeals to a good percentage of people in all categories - perhaps anyone who appreciates or longs for that heartfelt place - thus crossing race, social, gender, religious and ethnic boundaries. His Web Site, www.AwakenVisions.com, is a special world to explore and enjoy - a Domain of Beauty, Insight, Transformation and Awakening. |

| Historic Homes in the Movies - The Buckner Hill Plantation with Brad Chappell |
 |
Buckner Hill Plantation is an 1855 house located on land originally inhabited by Native Americans and later granted by Kings George II and III in the 1700s to early American colonists. Some relics of the original
inhabitants, thought to be thousands of years old, still exist and are occasionally found nearby. The same family has owned much of surrounding property from the 1700s to the present. The current dwelling has survived numerous hurricanes, an earthquake that toppled chimneys from Charleston to Raleigh in 1888, a tornado that leveled the family cemetery, looting and destruction of portions of the property by Union troops during the Civil War, and the filming of a major motion picture, the Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. The filming of the movie based on the best-selling novel by Rebecca Wells was one of the highlights of recent years. The work here by many of Hollywood’s legendary award-winning actors and actresses added their imprint upon the long and varied history of a land occupied by humans for thousands of years. |
More about Brad Chappell:
Brad Chappell, BS, Mdiv, is co-owner of Buckner Hill Plantation, a National Register Property in Faison, North Carolina (www.carolinaplantation.com). Brad has been involved with three historic restorations, including the award-winning restoration of the 1855 Buckner Hill House, where he conducts tours and hosts special events and continues work on historic reservation. He has also worked in property management, information services, radio, and healthcare research. |

| Metaphysical Properties of Gemstones |
|
Serene Bath & Body was the vision of its owner and founder, Niki Fountain. As a young woman, Ms. Fountain, like many girls her age, found herself with a poor body image and did not treat her body with the love and respect it deserved. Through the years she was able to overcome this and realized that everyone, especially young women, needed to learn to care for and respect their bodies. This eventually inspired Celestial Farms. The inspiration was one of creating products that would help young girls and women learn to love their bodies and treat them well by using high quality products that nourish the body, the mind, the spirit and the soul. |
 |
More About Niki Fountain:
Niki Fountain earned her Masters Degree in Hydrogeology and has a professional background in developing and perfecting soaps. She spent two years in a university laboratory as a hydrogeologist developing soap formulations to be used to “clean-up” chemicals that had been spilled into groundwater. She has been applying this experience and knowledge ever since while working in the environmental industry, cleaning up sites that have been contaminated with chemicals. She has since taken this knowledge and experience and applied it to developing and perfecting formulations of soaps for people. Additionally, being a geologist, she is intimately familiar with crystals and gemstones and both their physical and metaphysical properties. She uses this knowledge while creating new formulations that include various combinations of soaps/lotions with the appropriate crystals to obtain an array of desired outcomes (relaxation, invigoration, etc).
