Have you noticed how quickly time is moving as we shift into the new age of consciousness? It seems like we were just celebrating the New Year and here we are days away from August… We set goals of wanting to take more time for ourselves this year and to read more about subjects that inspire, educate and sometimes just entertain us.  Yet it’s hard to carry around a stack of books to read in the few moments we have to ourselves… on a quick lunch break, waiting in the carpool to pick up the children, on the train to work or if we’re really lucky, a few heavenly moments curled up in a chair reading a wonderful story….

While nothing will replace a paper book for me, I love it all, the smell, the paper, the feel of it in my hands, I also realize that in this age of communication, there are times when the purpose of technology is to create time saving shortcuts to help us in all that we do each day.  One  example of these tech evolutions is the Kindle, which allows books to be read in an electronic format. The Kindle is compact, portable and holds over 200 books in its database. It’s the perfect gift for someone who travels often and can’t take a bag of books with them,  the busy executive who can read on the way into work on the train, moms and dads waiting to pick up children from an activity and for those techies, who we all know, who love playing with new technology, just because it’s new!  I don’t think Kindle will be the demise of books, too many people love books in their paper format, but Kindle will find its place in this world. One option that I see in the future, will be for high school and college students, who lug around so many heavy books from class to class, putting a strain on their backs and shoulders. Kindle would allow for all of their textbooks to be downloaded into the reader and the students will be able to search for certain paragraphs of information and mark these areas for study later.  The costly replacement due to the wear and tear on the books along with the children’s health, would be worth it alone!

Stephanie South is the author of 2012: Biography of a Time Traveler, which is the authorized biography of José Arguelles, the man who first introduced the date December 21, 2012 into mass consciousness with The Mayan Factor. The initiator of the Harmonic Convergence global peace meditation of 1987, Arguelles is also the founder of the annual Whole Earth Festival (1970) in California, and one of the originators of the Earth Day concept.

Recently, I had the opportunity to ask Stephanie some questions about the 2012 book, Jose’ Arguelles and what’s to come in 2012.  Enjoy the interview between Stephanie and I, presented here below….   All the best, *~Kala~*

KA: Stephanie, how did you meet and become involved with Jose’ Arguelles?

SS: In hindsight, it was purely a matter of destiny. As it actually happened a man I had been involved with who was the head of Padmasambhava Center in Portland, Oregon invited me to the 28th annual Whole Earth Festival in 1998. He had a strong intuition to go there to specifically honor Jose as being a terton, or ¨hidden treasure finder¨ in Tibetan terms.  This meant the discoverer of hidden or lost teachings. This was all new to me as at the time I did not know what a terton was, nor had I heard of Jose Arguelles. As it turned out, Jose had started the Whole Earth Festival in 1970 as a prelude to the first Earth Day.

After hearing Jose speak about time and synchronicity, something clicked inside of me and I immediately began to study his works. A few years later, I began to assist him in editing and organizational work, but it wasn´t until 2002 that this entire process began.

KA: At the age of 14, Jose Arguelles experienced what he describes as a life altering vision while on the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, Mexico. Can you explain what he learned during this time?

SS: He learned that there was a higher mind behind the world of appearance. He experienced the cosmic essence behind ¨things.¨  While standing at the top of the pyramid he understood that the minds that conceived of and created these amazing pyramid structures were vastly different than the minds that created modern civilization. He vowed to find what this knowledge was and bring it back to the modern world.

KA: What theory do you ascribe to as to how the Mayan people created such elaborate calendars?

SS: I think they could create such elaborate calendars because they were operating with a different perception of time than how we think of it. They did not have telescopes or any other astrological equipment, yet they knew the movement and position of different stars and were able to calculate large cycles both in the future and in the past. This was due to an advanced mathematical system that underlies calendars. I  highly recommend reading Jose Arguelles´ book, The Mayan Factor for more information about this.

KA: Can you briefly explain Jose’s theories on the Harmonic Convergence as well as what we can expect on December 21, 2012…

SS: For Jose, the Harmonic Convergence of 1987 was the fulfillment of a prophecy that opened a 25-year portal leading to the Harmonic Convergence of 2012. This was a prophecy of Quetzalcoatl that defined a cycle of time that began in 843 AD and ended on August 16, 1987.

Jose received the dates for the Harmonic Convergence in the early 1970s from Tony Shearer, a Lakota journalist and poet. Then in 1983 Jose had an amazing vision of an ¨Earth Surrender Rite¨, which would become known as the Harmonic Convergence.

The Harmonic Convergence marked the first time that human beings simultaneously coordinated their prayers, meditations and ceremonies at sacred sites around the planet. Many didn´t even know why, but they felt a type of magnetic pull. It resulted in the largest unified moment of collective synchronization.

According to Jose, the Harmonic Convergence of 2012 is all about collective synchronization and the shift of timing frequencies opening us into a harmonious new cycle.

KA:  Arguelles discusses the “telepathic nature of time”. Explain this concept as well as his theory that humanity is living in “artificial time” and how this is affecting our environment and civilization as a whole.

SS: The simplest way to understand the ¨telepathic nature of time¨ is through the experience of synchronicity.  Synchronicity is the key. Jose discovered that time is actually a frequency—the frequency of synchronization.  So when we experience synchronicity, like when someone calls that you were just thinking about, this is a direct experience of the telepathic nature of time. This means that your inner experience and your outer experience were in alignment or synchronized in that moment.

According to the Law of Time, which Jose discovered in 1989, synchronicity is our natural state. What keeps us from experiencing synchronicity all the time is that we are living in artificial time.

Artificial time, he discovered, is created by two instruments: the mechanical clock and the Gregorian calendar, with its irregular measure.  Together, these two instruments create a timing frequency known as the 12:60 (12-month calendar, 60 minute clock). This is artificial time. The whole of our civilization runs on this frequency unconsciously. But the rest of nature lives in natural time. The frequency of natural time is 13:20 (based on the harmonic mathematics of the Mayan calendar). In this frequency time is art and synchronicity and telepathy are the norm. Jose has discovered that we can shift to the 13:20 frequency by learning to live again according to the cycles of nature.  The 13 Moon, 28-day calendar is the main instrument he advocates to shift frequencies.

KA:  What is the Noosphere II Project?

SS: The Noosphere II Project is an experiment in time to aid in a positive planetary shift in frequency.  Noosphere can be likened to the sphere of mind of the planet. It is also the name given for the coming stage of evolution. So the Noosphere II project is an experiment of different meditations and visualizations to actually realize and bring about this next stage. It is about the cultivation of the mind and exercises in maintaining a lucid state of continuing consciousness within the natural 13:20 timing frequency. KA: Jose Arguelles discusses the Law of Time and the 13 Moon Calendar that we should follow. How can we begin to live following the 13 Moon Calendar while also needing to function in the current time frame set for work, school etc?

SS: You can just begin to follow it along with the Gregorian calendar. All the 13-Moon, 28 day calendars have the Gregorian dates, so you just find the Gregorian date and then pay attention also to the 13 moon date of the day. Remember that the Maya used many calendars simultaneously (up to 17!).  It is all about synchronicity.

The 13-Moon, 28-day calendar is like a lens to shift your frequency and perception of time. It basically gives you a portal to another experience of  reality. The mathematics behind this calendar are the mathematics of the fourth dimension.  It´s a good experiment to try following it for one moon (28 days) and note any shifts in your perceptions and increase of synchronicities that might occur.

KA: Has the Law of Time affected the current world Economic Crisis?

SS: According to the Law of Time, the economic crisis is a function of a system based on artificial time. Nothing artificial can last. The main distinction of the Law of Time is that we are shifting the paradigm from ¨time is money¨ to ¨time is art.¨ The question is, how do we make a positive transition to a new system in alignment with the laws of nature so there is abundance and equality for all?

KA: Through your study and work with Jose Arguelles, what have you learned and what would you advise people to do to shift their consciousness before 2012 and after?

SS: I feel Jose´s life is powerful example of holding to your inner vision and dream even though the world may be telling you otherwise. The main thing I have learned from Jose is the importance of discipline, focus and the cultivation of the mind. Through the training of the mind, we are able to experience more easily the rich textured meaning of this reality as well as other realities. Jose has brought through many ¨time science¨ tools that, when studied and applied, have palpable effects on the mind and consciousness.

My advice to others through this time of transition is to find your joy—find what connects you most directly with your essence–this is where the treasure lies. Also it is so important that each of us take full responsibility for ourselves and our reality. This means no longer blaming others for anything. And also forgiving everyone for everything, including ourselves!  Everything we see in the outer world is a manifestation of our collective inner world, so as each of us shifts our inner world, then our outer world changes!  Also I highly recommend a vegetarian, vegan or raw vegan diet to help raise our frequency along with living in the natural cycles of time.

KA: Tell us more about you and your work.

SS: Currently I am working with Jose on completing the Book of the Timespace, volume V of the Cosmic History Chronicles. I am also working on the Star Travelers13-Moon Almanac of Synchronicity. This is an easy-to-use introduction to the 13-Moon, 28-day calendar that people can follow day-to-day along with the Gregorian calendar to begin to increase their synchronicity and shift their frequency. In the wake of Dan Brown’s bestseller, some people insisted that it was pure fiction, while others asked, “What remains when the fiction is stripped away from The Da Vinci Code.” What remains, I believe, is the belief of the earliest Christians that Jesus embodied the Sacred Bridegroom from the ancient mythologies and that Mary Magdalene was his spouse. This belief appears at the core of the Gospels and was later embellished by authors of the Gnostic texts discovered in Egypt, texts that unabashedly proclaim Mary Magdalene as beloved disciple and intimate companion, even “consort,” of Jesus.

My personal conviction that Jesus was married and that he and his wife modeled the hieros gamos (literally, “sacred marriage”) as the “archetypal divine couple” rests on the Passion narrative in the canonical Gospels, beginning with the anointing of Jesus by a woman, an event followed by his torture, death, and resurrection. This powerful sequence closely paralleled in numerous ancient mythologies and liturgies of pagan “bridegroom gods” similarly sacrificed and resurrected at the vernal equinox.

As Jesus was reclining at the banquet table in the town of Bethany, a woman carrying an alabaster jar of precious ointment approached him. She broke the jar open and anointed Jesus with its contents, precious unguent of nard. Then, as her tears fell on his feet, she dried them with her hair. This passionate story was so poignant that it survived for a generation in oral tradition and is one of only four stories included in all four canonical Gospels.

What was it about the story of this anointing by a woman that was so powerful, so unforgettable? Jesus himself proclaimed that wherever this story was told, it would be told “in memory of her.” And yet, most people do not even remember her name!

Over the years, the unnamed woman became identified with Mary Magdalene and was branded a prostitute, a slander derived from the association of the anointing with pagan rites of the sacred King. Later legends tell of the journey of the “Bride in Exile,” another familiar archetype from ancient mythologies and Micah 4: 8-10. Mary Magdalene brings the Holy Grail to the shores of Gaul, arriving in about 42 A.D. with her friends and family in a boat with no oars, fleeing persecution in Judea. With them is a pre-adolescent child, between the ages of nine and twelve whose name Sarah means “Princess” in Hebrew, yet legend declares that she is a servant. Was she, like Cinderella, really a princess from a faraway land? This legend lies at the core of the bloodline heresy that cannot be proven with facts, but echoes poignantly throughout medieval European folklore and art—the myth that a royal child descended from Jesus and Mary Magdalene survived. The “lost princess” belongs in the realm of mythology, a story too dangerous to be told as fact, but one that contrives to confirm the marriage of the “Christ-couple” at the heart of the Christian mythology.

The “sacred union,” tragically lost in the cradle of Christianity, was to have been our birthright in the Western world.  In reclaiming this union of the “Archetypal Bride and Bridegroom,” we bring waters of Spirit and Truth to heal the wasteland.  Margaret Starbird Copyright 2005  All rights reserved

With the world’s economy on such shaky ground as the old structures crumble to make way for the new, there are millions of people who consider themselves in dire financial straits. They are facing such potentially core-shaking events as home foreclosures, job losses, and bankruptcy. Many are experiencing utter desperation because they just don’t know what to do.

If that’s you—or if you’re in any situation that has you feeling in dire straits—I invite you to do the most powerful thing possible: surrender. Give everything over to your Spirit to sort out. Turn it over to the wise, powerful aspect of you to handle, and be willing to listen for and act on your Spirit’s guidance in taking any practical steps that need to be taken.

I invite you to use this experience as your proving ground for your beliefs—to put your spirituality to the test—so that you can demonstrate the very truths you’ve adopted and have made your intention to live by. And what better time is there to do that than when your back is to the wall? Up against the wall is a power place when you decide it is. When you’re up against the wall, the most powerful response is to say to your Spirit, “I surrender this to you.”

Only One Thing is Standing In The Way of The Abundant Life You Were Designed to Live

Your very design as a human being calls for you to thrive, live in harmony, and be abundantly blessed. But there is an important part of this that many have missed. This harmony and abundance depends on you listening to your Spirit’s voice above all other voices, and following its guidance faithfully. That is how the Creator set things up for humanity to live a life of joy, ease, and harmony.

But you cannot expect the level of abundant blessing you were designed to enjoy when you allow the loud, panicked voice of the Fearful Self to drown out the calm, sure, wise voice of your Spirit. And heaven knows, this whole economic scenario is riling up our fearful aspects and causing them to scream bloody murder! Financial trouble strikes right at the major hot buttons of your Fearful Self, also known as your ego.

The threat of losing one’s home, of not having enough food, of not being able to provide abundantly for one’s family, of feeling like a failure, and so on—these all hit ego right where it lives (no pun intended). Because ego’s agenda lines right up with the agenda of your primitive brain, known in the Triune Brain Model as the reptilian brain, that part of you that is concerned with your physical survival, it is particularly stressed at anything to do with threats to survival or status. And when ego’s buttons are pushed, it is loud and insistent on getting your attention.

But you can’t let the threatened ego take over and drown out the voice of your Spirit. You need to do whatever it takes to soothe the poor, terrified thing into quietude so that Spirit’s voice can be heard in response. The key to doing this is to raise your vibration, because the higher you go, the fainter ego’s voice is, and the clearer Spirit’s voice.

The Fearful Self Must Be Allowed Its Say, or There Will Be No Peace

The thing is, though, ego is not going to let this happen without first being heard. Ironically, in order to quiet its voice, you will first need to let it express itself. Your helpless little-child ego-self is going to need to wail it out and your teenaged ego-self is going to need to yell about how unfair it all is. Every level of ego will need to discharge its anger and express its fear. That is not dwelling on the negative; it is managing your vibration by managing your feelings. Trying to go higher without clearing out all this emotional energy is futile. Stuffing your fear and trying to paste a smiley face on it in the name of being positive is just not going to work.

You may recognize this emotional release as being Step 3 from the Step-By-Step Frequency Raising System. Whenever you feel the fear and emotional energy building up, have a #3 and clear it out on purpose. That is how you clear the way to the empowering guidance of your omniscient Spirit.

After releasing the fearful emotions, use some of the many tools listed in the Step-By-Step system to transcend your fearful ego and go higher in vibration, and, thus, closer to your Spirit. Uplifting music, aromatherapy, physical exercise, appreciating nature—or a combination of these or others—will help you move higher and higher. As long as it feels pleasurable to you—as long as you’re feeling better and better—you know what you are doing is uplifting you.

Surrender Again, and Again, and Again

If you find yourself worrying or trying to think your way through the problem, it’s time to surrender again. Your Spirit, always in alignment with the Design for Harmony, knows exactly what to do to bring you to your highest level of well-being, no matter the circumstances or the problems you may have created by allowing ego to lead. When you are aligned with your Spirit, it will tell you the practical steps you need to take in the process of sorting out a problem or moving to a more peaceful situation. Your Spirit is also a dispenser of miracles if you’re sufficiently surrendered and available to receive them.

The solutions your Spirit has for you won’t require engineering by your left brain—your left brain will only be needed to carry out the instructions Spirit gives you. Your left brain won’t be able to come up with the ideas to solve the problems—it would have already done so if it were able. Spirit will provide the ideas and solutions, but you have to be tuned in to receive its messages.

When you worry, plot, plan, and control, you are on the wrong wavelength to receive the perfect guidance of your Spirit. When worry sets in, just turn it around by saying, “I trust you Spirit. I surrender this to you.” How often do you need to surrender? How ever many times it takes. Your frightened ego will try to convince you that relying on your Spirit is impractical, but that’s only because it can’t see high enough to grasp what your Spirit is able to do that it can’t.

Keep affirming your trust in your Spirit. Praise your Spirit for its brilliance and power (this is not for your Spirit’s sake, but for your own!). And to really keep yourself in the zone, go ahead and thank your Spirit with all the enthusiasm of someone who has just been told that all her problems have been solved, because that is the very outcome that is being created when you trust your Spirit and follow its guidance to the abundant life you were designed to live.

Queen Elizabeth and her Royal Court have been invited by the Earl of Bedford to come and visit with him at his estate in Kingston-Upon-Hull, a major shipping port about ten days journey north of London. Good Queen Bess has accepted his invitation and the town is all abuzz with the exciting news of her imminent arrival. Lord Mayor Charles Babington has requested that the Towne Cryer, Master Harold, gather the citizens into the Towne Square for some important announcements. Just as his honour, Lord Mayor Babington, finishes checking with each of the towne merchants to verify that all preparations are in order for the Queen’s arrival, the gathering is interrupted by Count Bernadino Mendoza, the Spanish ambassador, who asks to address the crowd. It seems, he announces, that a courier, sent by King Philip with an important dispatch for the Queen, is missing. The Count offers a generous reward for anyone who locates the diplomatic pouch containing the dispatch, generating much excitement amongst the crowd.

Suddenly, Captain Richard Langstrom of the Mermaid’s Revenge pushes his way through the crowd, dragging a drunk and disheveled Spaniard behind him. “Is this the scurvy dog you be looking for?” he asks roughly. Indeed, it is the missing courier but, alas, he has misplaced the diplomatic pouch and too much ale has dulled his memory. The search for the missing pouch is on, with Count Mendoza leading the charge and enlisting the aid of the Sheriff and his Deputy and the good citizens of Kingston-Upon-Hull in the hunt.

On The Explore Your Spirit with Kala Show, I’ve had the opportunity to interview Dr. Walter Semkiw to discuss his research on reincarnation. The author of Return of the Revolutionaries: The Case for Reincarnation and Soul Groups Reunited, his work has been featured on CNN and cited in Newsweek. Semkiw founded the Institute for the Integration of Science, Intuition, and Spirit (IISIS), dedicated to researching reincarnation and related phenomena scientifically and promoting the social transformation that objective evidence of reincarnation will bring.  His research discusses reincarnation and past life cases are reviewed which demonstrate that from lifetime to lifetime, facial features, personality traits, passions, aptitudes and linguistic writing style remain consistent. We used to go on vacations in order to ‘vacate’, to empty out our built up stress, our ‘backed up’ clogged up energies. We’d plop ourselves on the beach just ‘vegging’ and often using alcohol to force our bodies to relax. This is the old model that we are shifting out of. And then there came an ‘Eco Travel’ trend, or ‘Adventure Travel’ with mountain biking and ‘ziplining’ or white water rafting.  All fun and energizing. But we still weren’t able to ‘Be still and know That I Am God’ – we still weren’t able to truly relax and receive. So the pendulum swung from total ‘vacating, vegging out vacations’ to ‘Adventure Activity Vacations’- strenuous physical activity Adventures. As with all polarity paradigms the pendulum swings between the oppo-sites and eventually finds center balance.

Now there is a new balance emerging – the best of all worlds’ type of travel coming forth- Eco Spiritual Travel – where enjoying, caring, appreciating the Natural World – being in touch with Mother Nature combines with personal Spiritual growth & a rejuvenating, relaxing vacation. Is it ‘Work’ or ‘Play’? We also used to have very distinct boundaries between ‘work’ & ‘play’. We had to ‘work’ in order to save up enough $ and time to ‘play’ or ‘take time off’. This model is also starting to melt, blur and merge into something new where work & play are joining into something new. The new model is becoming more of – just Being. We are working-playing-being-doing all together at once. Perhaps we will outgrow the word ‘work’ and we will come up with a new word – or perhaps no word. ‘No Pain, No Gain’ is the old Model.

When we started doing ‘workshops’, retreats, awakening seminars – we were still under the old model of ‘no pain, no gain’. We felt in order to get something out of our ‘workshop’ there had to be some ‘pain’ involved. We had to get up early, spend most of the day in our ‘work’ shop with short breaks for food – and with very little time left over for just fun. These models were the right stepping stones at the time – at least we were ‘working’ on our Selves and not for someone else. But now things are moving towards more merging- unifying ways of being & doing in our lives. What if we can combine Fun, Relaxing & Play with personal Awakening &  Spiritual Growth? And how about we add contributing to the health of the Planet and the Ecosphere to that? This is a ‘light bulb moment’ when we see it –a win-win-win for everyone and everything involved. The old model of ‘if it’s good for me it tastes bad or is hard and no fun’ or ‘if it’s fun it has to be either illegal, immoral or fattening’ – those days are leaving.

Eco Spiritual Travel – is travel where you go somewhere you really enjoy, can really feel good in body, mind & spirit and enjoying Nature-Mother Earth- the Eco Sphere. Part of your ‘vacation’ may be to lie on the beach in Kona, Hawaii but not for all day for days on end. That’s like eating too much cheesecake! Instead your day might look like this – you may get up leisurely around 8-9am, enjoy the open air restaurant breakfast – an hour after breakfast you join your Spiritual Retreat Seminar being conducted under the palm trees . You do some breathing meditation and learn to feel your Inner Body more fully. After these simple timeless spiritual exercises & some social interaction time with likeminded new friends you have free time to swim with turtles, go into town to shop, or read a book in the hammock, go visit a Kona coffee farm or snorkel on the reef. Then in the late afternoon you meet back up with your retreat group and you go for short drive to a protected bay and swim with wild dolphins carefully respecting the dolphins’ natural boundaries. Then a Sunset meditation at an ancient Heiau – temple area where you can feel the ancient rhythms of true old Hawaii. And back to the resort for evening dinner overlooking the protected lagoons, watching the turtles swim below you. Private time, beach time, group spiritual time, dolphin time, sunset time, food time, hammock time… true en-join-ment.

En-join-ment = the new model is that when we truly en-joy we are ‘In Joy’ – en‘join’ing back up with God, reconnecting with our own Spirit. The old model is that we can only reach ‘God’, ‘Salvation’, ‘Nirvana’, ‘Enlightenment’ through pain, struggle, sore backs from meditation postures, having to ‘sacrifice’, fighting our minds to be ‘quiet’, “It’s in our Pleasure we find our Treasure.” Do flowers not en-joy opening into blooming? Do trees struggle? Does the Ocean have to ‘work’ when its waves move? Do Birds effort and huff and puff when flying? Isn’t this effortless flow perhaps what St. Francis was pointing to when he quotes – “Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow – they neither toil nor spin – and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”  What is a flow-er? Maybe the Angels of Language left clues for us – a flower is a Flow-er, a flow of God-Spirit Energy erupting into our world to remind us to also surrender to this Flow of God-Source.

More About Tobias Lars:
While attending undergraduate school Tobias Lars had an awakening experience where the energy centers of the body opened up and spontaneously reactivated ancient yogic energy practices. This happened without any work. The Yogic ‘Asanas’ – the postures came back to the conscious awareness and he felt other lifetimes of practicing yoga. As he did each posture they felt like a key unlocking energy grids in the body that had been previously locked and these energies were then released and flooded through the body. These powerful effects were undeniable to his young western scientific mind. That started a 25 year journey of spiritual study. Tobias spent time in India with a master teacher, studied shamanic practices with Native American free beings, heart centered Tantra, ego confrontation, the path of divine romantic love and with the help of a mentor opened back up to the energies of the nature kingdom of Pan and the Devic Kingdom.
